NFL Pick of the Week
Denver Broncos at Pittsburgh Steelers (+1.5)
The Pittsburgh Steelers, currently riding a three-game losing streak, are hosting the Denver Broncos Sunday in a game that is almost a must-win contest for the Steelers — the Steelers are in last place by two games in the AFC North.
Pittsburgh’s offense has been sputtering, and veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger hasn’t been playing to his usual standards. However I expect that Roethlisberger will return to form against Denver.
Additionally, the Steelers have played four top teams so far this season, which accounts in part for the team’s poor start — their lone win is an opening season victory over the Buffalo Bills, a Super Bowl contender.
Meanwhile, Teddy Bridgewater, Denver’s starting quarterback, suffered a concussion last week, and the team reportedly won’t know if he’ll be fully cleared to play against the Steelers until tomorrow morning.
As such, with Pittsburgh needing a win and with uncertainty around Denver’s quarterback, look for the Steelers, a home underdog, to win this game outright — in fact, I expect the Steelers to win by at least a touchdown over the Broncos.
